JOB SUMMARY:  We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Electrical Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the electrical trades, along with a passion for teaching and mentoring students. This individual will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging curriculum, providing hands-on instruction, and preparing students for careers in the electrical industry.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Develop and implement curriculum for electrical courses, incorporating industry standards and best practices.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive instruction to students, utilizing a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Provide hands-on training and demonstrations in electrical techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel motivated and empowered to succeed.
  • Assess student progress and performance, providing feedback and guidance for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry professionals to stay updated on current trends and developments in the electrical industry.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and other school-related events as required.


QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the electrical trade industry.
  • Knowledge and experience with hand and power tools, safety (OSHA), construction drawings, National Electrical Code, basic circuits and electrical theory, and residential, commercial, and industrial electric.
  • Previous teaching or training experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.
  • Commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Relevant certifications in electrical work (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, Master Electrician) preferred.
  • Candidates must have or obtain a valid Ohio teaching certificate/license to teach Electrical Trades (171002) Endorsements in other areas would be beneficial additions including:  (Construction-Design and Build 171805, Heavy Equipment 171003, Masonry 171004, and Plumbing and Pipefitting 171007).
  • Candidates currently hold or are willing to secure a current certification with the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience. (Salary range:  $47,581.00 - $83,014.00)
  • 189 day contract for first year new teachers; 185 days in subsequent contracts.
